House Kay Avenue
This project was a team effort with a very involved and creative client that needed Nuclei’s assistance and expertise to completely transform their old and largely impractical family residence.
The client’s very specific design ideas and tastes were catered for, and the design moulded around the family’s way of life and their needs.
The retro and deco inspired style was influenced by the client’s collection of furniture and art affects.
This focus was on the interior and the living spaces of the house rather than the aesthetics form the outside since the residence is not visible form the street as it is positioned in a cul-de-sac via a long panhandle. Opening the interior as much as possible and demolishing an awkward octagonal central structure, allowed the living areas to flow and let the natural light into the now new family residence.
